Jesus’s first disciples asked him to teach them to pray. And why wouldn't they after they observed his varied prayer practices that kept him centered in his true identity and calling and enabled him to declare and demonstrate the reality of his Kingdom now among us. Jesus's prayer life was lived out in both hidden and public ways. For us to see a rapid multiplication of disciple makers and our cities saturated with the good news, we must follow the example and instruction of Jesus on prayer. In this workshop we will consider the critical relationship between listening/contemplative prayer and Kingdom come/contending prayer. Both are essential for partnering with God to advance the Kingdom. We also will experiment with a simple Prayer Upgrade Tool that invites us to: 1) Dream Big, 2) Listen Well and 3) Pray Hard with expectation.
